Fusion Mellow is a funky blues and jam-rock band from Peoria, Illinois, delivering deep jams and far-out original tunes with a touch of tasty arranged covers. Forming in the summer of 2023, the group consists of Chas Eyster on guitar, Jerry Hendricks delivering the low end on bass, Jacob “Buzz” Buskirk hammering the skins on drums, and Jon Anthony on the ivory keys. The band’s name encapsulates all of the members’ different styles, influences, and backgrounds while blending them all into one harmonious entity. The quartet will get your body moving and your mind bending with their groovin’ psychedelic sounds and improvisation. Close your eyes and let their music take you to places filled with excitement and imagination.

Chas Eyster

Guitar/Vocals

Chas has been playing the guitar since he was 13 years old and took to music theory quickly.  He received a Bachelor of Music degree from Western Illinois University after studying music business and jazz guitar.  Taking harmonies from jazz-based music, Eyster infused those styles and incorporated them into his own original songs and improvisation, where you can hear bits of classic funk, rock, and blues music with subtle hints of jazz and dissonance.  Eyster is a self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur; ask him about his favorite pie!

Jerry Hendricks

Bass

Jerry Hendricks first picked up a six string twanger at eight years old.  He graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor in Music Composition.  Throughout his life, he has played a wide-variety of genres, from jazz, folk, bluegrass, and country to heavy metal, rock, and jam.

Jon Anthony

Keys

Born in 2001, Jon has been immersed in music his whole life. A multi-instrumentalist, recording engineer, producer, and owner of Bass Face Studio, Jon’s experience spans studio albums, TV and film scores, and a range of collaborative projects. 

 His love for the jam band scene fuels his passion for the music of Fusion Mellow, where he continues to bring his unique skills and musical intuition.

Jacob "Buzz" Buskirk

Drums

Jacob “Buzz” Buskirk is a jack of all trades, master of fun, and a monster on the kit. Buzz has been playing percussion since he was a child and can lay down any groove he desires and comfortably live in the pocket.
